There is one thing that I really, really love and adore about outdoor camping adventures – which I like to embark upon quite often these days with my friends and family – the food. It is so much fun to cook when you are on outdoor camping trips, at least for me, because you have to be a bit more creative with how you cook the food, and because you are also limited in your cooking resources as well. But I have been able to, over the years, amass a rather fine and grand collection of some really great outdoor camping cooking gear that has allowed for me to create some truly savory and tasty dishes for me and my buddies when we are huddled around the fire and telling stories. I have been getting ready for my next planned outdoor camping trip – which is in a few weeks from now – and I have realized that after looking over my collection of my outdoor camping cooking gear that I could really use to have some more cooking utensils at my disposal. Not to fret, I tell myself, there is still plenty of time to look around online for some deals on outdoor camping cooking gear, and get them ordered in time for my next planned outdoor camping trip.

To the web I once again herald, this time the adventure is to seek out a great outdoor camping supplies store that has the items that I require in stock and at the right prices. I am quite amazed, to say the least, over the many great online stores that I have already found in nearly a heartbeat online today. After looking around only briefly, I came across this truly well-stocked online outdoor camping gear superstore called Olis Outdoors—which you can easily find on the web at this URL address I have provided for you at: http://www.route66megamall.com/. They have lots of different cooking gear items that you can choose from, and finding the outdoor camping cooking utensils I really wanted was both easy and fun for me today. Currently I have my eyes set upon this sweet GSI 3 Piece Nylon Utensil Ring Set (which I have added a picture of to the upper left) that is made of sturdy materials, and that will greatly aid me in my culinary endeavors on my next camping trip. This next trip should go off without a hitch, thanks to this new camping gear, my friends!

Carp Fishing Before the Sun Rises

http://www.getoutdoorssportszone.com/2010/June/Carp-Fishing-Before-the-Sun-Rises.htm

Ever angler has their own set of tips and tricks to come away with the big one. I went outdoor camping with a friend who is well versed in the art of Carp fishing and learned that he catches much of his fish before the sun comes up. He gets out onto the dock or raft around 5am, rigs his lines, sets his bate and then drops the hook in the water. Within 30 minutes, the sun starts coming up and he doesn’t need to use the T.O.P. Compact Convertible, 1 Watt LED, Black Al. Body, Box light, seen in the picture above, to maneuver through the tackle box. He swears by the benefits of waking up at the crack of dawn when outdoor camping. I do think it is much easier to wake up that early out in the forest or by a lake because people generally go to bed earlier when outdoor camping on account of exhausting things to do after the sun goes down.

So on the last trip I had my buddy shake me awake one of the mornings he planned on early morning Carp fishing so he could show me the ropes. The night prior, we had cooked up his catch on the grill and it tasted fantastic with a little bit of lemon juice, salt and pepper. His little light showed us the way down to the lake’s dock. For such a small LED light, it sure got the job done. Out in the woods there aren’t any lights except the glimmer of cabin windows or smoldering campfires out in the distance. It would be impossible to do anything without such a flashlight before the sun came up.

He shined the LED down at the water looking to see if any fish scampered away. He did and told me to get the Carp fishing equipment ready. We had gone to Olis Outdoors at http://www.olisoutdoors.com/ prior to the outdoor camping trip to refill our tackle boxes. With a night crawler on the hook below medium weighters we cast into the lake. It did not take more than 20 minutes before we each landed a bite. The first one I pulled up was really small so I tossed it back but by the time the sun was coming over the horizon our Carp fishing luck changed and we had a fresh lunch ready for the BBQ. Camping and outdoor adventures like this is part of the reason I love this time of the year.

For me, I love to go on outdoor camping trips, and I can never really get my hands on enough of the outdoor camping gear that makes those trips abroad so enjoyable for me and my friends. But if you have ever seen what they are charging for outdoor camping gear at the local stores, man alive is it a wallet buster just to get nearly anything! Thankfully, however, such is not the case, as I have found, when shopping for the very same outdoor camping gear online. Over the past few years I have saved a small fortune by conducting my outdoor camping gear shopping on the web—where I have realized that quite often you can save a ton of money off the retail prices that the local stores would charge you. It is almost like you have a big pair of scissors and you are cutting out the middleman to get the best bargains online; awesome!

There are some outdoor sports that I never thought that I would ever try my hands at, like tennis. But my older brother David called me up the other day and asked me if I wanted to come over to his house this weekend, and he would teach me to play tennis outdoors sports on his courts at his house. I told him heck yes! I am really eager to learn something new, and besides, it really could not hurt one bit if I were to get out there and get some serious sweating in, and really have some fun while playing my brother tennis outdoors sports. He even told me not to worry about having a tennis racket, as he plays tennis outdoors sports so often now that he actually has a spare racket that I can use. So this weekend should prove to be quite the workout for me, my friends. I have never played tennis outdoors sports before, so that should be an interesting experience. I am really eager to see if I have any natural talent, too. Either way, it should be a real blast!

A couple of friends recently went to a coastal national park to scale the face of what looks like a near impossible mountain. The climb begins easy enough but then it gets steeper and steeper until there are moments when they were climbing up out and over to the top of the ridge like Tom Cruise did at the start of Mission Impossible III. I know this because one of them brought a video camera, led the climb and filmed the other two throughout the six-hour adventure. Rock climbing is all about trusting yourself and the rock that’s under the pressure of your body weight.

When they hit the peak the first thing one of the guys said was, “If this doesn’t make you feel alive then I don’t know what will.” Each one of them says rock climbing is one of the most thrilling things they have ever done. Personally, I’m going to stick with camping and hiking on average trails. I love outdoor camping and traditional hiking is still exhilarating.

The weekend was here and it could not have been a better day for camping and outdoor adventure. This was the second time I’d been to this particular lake and the tenth time for my buddy who drove. He had tried casting his reel at different spots of the lake and found success at a few of them. The plan was to split up and cast into separate parts of the lake. The first person who caught a fish would then get on the walkie-talkie and alert the other two he had found a fishy area.

With walkie-talkies similar to the MicroTalk 2 way Radio 25 mile. Model - CXR700 I found while shopping for camping and outdoor gear within Olis Outdoors at http://www.route66megamall.com/, we didn’t have to worry about setting up outside of the radio’s range. Since I don’t go Carp fishing that often I paired up with a buddy as the, driver and more frequent fisherman went a separate way to a small peninsula poking out into the water maybe a quarter mile away. We also only had two walkie-talkies so two of us had to stick together. Carp fishing can be all about patience. We had the right lure, our reels cast into what looked like a fish heavy zone with all of the logs and trees hanging over the water but we didn’t get a bite.

For about the first 45 minutes the only things said over the radios were jokes back and forth or updates on what was going on. Then we got something from our buddy who went solo. Really quickly he said, “I got a bite,” and then the radio went silent. I assumed he was on the lake’s edge trying to pull in his first catch. We couldn’t see where he was and decided to pack up and go run over to where the potential fish were. After jumping from rock to rock, sweeping around trees and hugging the lake’s edge we found our friend sitting on the ground, messing with the pole. His hook got stuck on drift wood and it broke the line when he tried reeling it in. That is Carp fishing. Sometimes the fish bite and other times it nothing but false alarms. No matter what happens Carp fishing is a great way to spend an afternoon.

For Memorial Day weekend, one of my friends flew home to spend it with her family in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to leaving, she told how excited she was to go hiking with everyone on Monday. I also wanted to go camping and hiking over the weekend. I accomplished one of those goals yesterday after trekking up a canyon goat trail not far away from where I live. From a difficulty standpoint, it was moderately easy because of the incline during portions. Because it was 80-degrees outside, I was panting like a dog by the time we reached the top. After getting home I texted my friend to see how her hike went. She replied quickly by saying it rained but it was awesome.

There is distinct difference between camping and hiking in Southern California compared to the Pacific Northwest. There is huge tree canopy coverage up there. If it rains here while camping and hiking, you feel every drop. There much of the precipitation bounces around the foliage before getting to the ground. Rain or shine, camping and hiking proved to be popular over Memorial Day weekend.

June Means Outdoor Camping

http://www.getoutdoorssportszone.com/2010/May/June-Means-Outdoor-Camping.htm

For months now, my roommate and I have been talking about an outdoor camping trip once the weather heats up a bit. It has been very nice where we live and with the right supplies could already be a great time to pitch a tent but we want to travel up north where the landscape is wilder and the weather is colder. Our plan has been to hit the road in June as the weather pretty much everywhere is heating up by this time. I was going to head to a favorite outdoors sports retailer for a new sleeping bag and assorted supplies until I looked in our linen closet. Prepared for a disaster, my roommate has 6 sleeping bags, backpacks, a tent, fire-starting equipment, battery operated flashlights and radio, along with a list of other items a person would expect in an earthquake kit.

I might just buy a small camping stove and use his stuff to save a little bit of cash for this trip. We don’t have an exact idea of where we will go. Instead we have a camping and hiking area locked down and will figure it out from there. I can’t wait for June to roll around so our outdoor camping talk comes to fruition.

Dominic Will Go Outdoor Camping With His Father

My husband and I are raising his three grandkids and they live at home with us. Earlier this evening Mike, the father of the youngest boy Dominic, phoned my husband. He wanted to know if he could take Dominic outdoor camping on Memorial Day weekend. My husband did not hesitate to say yes because he knows that an outdoor camping trip with his dad will be good for little Dominic. My husband and I both agree that outdoor camping is an excellent experience for children. Outdoor camping teaches children not to fear nature but to work in harmony with it. Of course Dominic will also bond with his father when they go outdoor camping together. Dominic’s dad has had his fair share of problems but he is basically a nice man so we encourage him to keep a close bond with his son. My husband took the phone call from Mike after Dominic had gone to bed for the night. Hence Dominic knows nothing about the outdoor camping trip with his dad and will not find out about it until he wakes up in the morning. I am sure he will be very excited when he finds out.
