I love outdoor camping hiking: it is one of my favorite outdoor sports. There have been some mishaps that I have encountered when on different outdoor camping hiking trips in the past, and most recently, when my wife, my brother and his fiancé all went up north to the Mogian Rim to really get the best out of our outdoor camping hiking experiences. That place is just... Read More
I have discovered a way to make sure that my cutting board is germ free when we're outdoor camping. I simply use a 60/40 mixture of alcohol and water to treat both sides of the cutting board and then I rinse it with water after washing it in hot soapy water. We love to eat when we're outdoor camping and I'm really glad I read that tip online. Now I don't worry about... Read More
I just heard on the news about two camping hiking people who are trapped in the mountains of the state of Arizona. From what I understand this couple went camping hiking for the weekend and have been trapped by a sudden snow storm. This also happens a few times a year in my home state and those of us who enjoy camping hiking adventures during the fall and winter months... Read More
Every year in the LA area, there are a couple firework shows to commence another start to a great year. The other day, after picking up a friend and heading over to a local venue to listen to music, I was told to take a back way through the hills. It was a shortcut that bypassed the freeways and congested roadways. Winding high into the hills, we got to a point in the road... Read More
My step-grandson Rick is a fan of outdoors sports. He likes baseball, soccer and football. He has played each of these outdoors sports as an after-school activity. Rick is also a fan of the Baltimore Ravens football team. His love of outdoors sports and the Ravens mean that he is typical of a nine year old boy living in the state of Maryland. However he still likes... Read More
Today when I was looking for something unusual to give my friend for Christmas, I ran across this shemagh which is nothing more than a cotton scarf used in deserts around the world to cover one's mouth, ears, and nose during the sand storms that are not infrequent in those areas. Since my friend and I both live in the desert, although we are many miles apart, I thought... Read More
I have not strung up the pole for a while but this winter heading out for some Carp fishing sounds pretty good. I have been doing research about Carp fishing in the winter. Some of the tips I have picked up are worth sharing. Carp along with many other fish slow down when winter temperatures cool down the water. They don’t hibernate but as my buddy who went to school for... Read More
My husband, five kids and myself all enjoy playing some outdoors sports together. We have several games that we play, like croquet, horseshoes, basketball and even swimming in the summers. When we play basketball, sometimes it's one on one or two on two, and other times it's just a fun game of HORSE. The kids love to play the croquet set that we have, too. It's easy... Read More
Just because winter and cold weather has arrived does not stop me from participating in outdoors sports. The one outdoors sports I spend much of my time doing during winter is hunting and riding ATV's and dirt bikes. I also have done a bit of outdoor camping in the winter but now that I am a bit older I would rather spend the day enjoying outdoors sports and then come home... Read More
Over here in Southern California, while it is getting really chilly at night the days have been a consistent 65-70 degrees. If you ask me this is a perfect temperature for outdoors sports. I would much rather have to add on more layers on then not be able to take enough off in the heat. Plus, I sweat like a pig running around especially playing outdoors sports like tennis... Read More
Weather permitting, we're going outdoor camping for four days between Christmas and New Year's, and while we're camping at desert elevations, it can still be cold in the morning. I ordered dozens of these hand warmers for us. They are inexpensive and can be really useful for getting or staying warm in cold temperatures or climates. I think these are something to keep on...
