camping hiking, outdoor campingWhen I was young, I belonged to the Girl Scouts and we participated in camping and outdoor activities to win merit badges. Not too many kids today belong to the Scouts and I think they are missing a lot of fun. My husband and I have decided that we should get the kids interested in outdoors sports and we should go outdoor camping instead of camping in front of the TV. I went online and found some wonderful items for us to take on our new adventure. I think the children are even excited about the upcoming trip. For our first trip, we are going to a camping site close to where we live and we will make it a short one, just to get used to it. I really can't wait to sit around the campfire and roast marshmallows. I have also planned to bring a few ghost stories to tell in the dark of night. Camping hiking and other outdoor activities are good for ones health and are a great way for the family to spend quality time together.
