Over the past year, I have not been outdoor camping. This is very disconcerting because I love getting out into nature, far away from modern society where the air is cleaner and the scenery is spectacular. I have a friend in the same boat. We want to remedy this problem and our solution came in the form of a tentative road trip into the forested high elevation of the Pacific Northwest. I grew up around this area. Camping and hiking is wide spread. It is not hard to get lost out there. Just about every road that will take a person through a mountain pass has endless off shoots into the forest that make for great outdoor camping retreats. I’m really excited to show him a glacier lake at the top of a strenuous hike of switch backs found in the Cascade range.
He offered to drive so the next step is setting a date. We see it happening within the next two months when the weather starts to become more consistent up there. This is a plan that will come to fruition. I won’t have it any other way.
