Cold weather outdoor camping. |

With summer officially over we will soon be into the colder weather of fall and winter. For those hardy souls who enjoy outdoor camping in cooler weather their camping needs will change. No longer will the lightweight summer camping tent suffice, nor the lightweight sleeping bags. Fortunately cold weather outdoor camping gear is widely available on the Internet. Obviously this means the cooler weather outdoor camping gear is going to be more robust, heavier, and waterproof, so for those who like to go on weekend hiking trips they are going to be carrying a heavier load but this should not be a problem if they are in shape from summer hiking. The heavy weight of cold weather camping gear should not present a problem for those of us who camp out of a vehicle. The times I have camped outdoors in cold weather when there has been snow on the ground and have always had a fun camping trip but I did learn one vital lesson---buy a tent with a floor in it and use a good air mattress to keep you off the ground. |
