Ten years ago if somebody had told me that I would one day come to enjoy the experience of outdoor camping I would not have believed them. Yet I have come to love outdoor camping for several reasons. I have found out that outdoor camping is very liberating because there is no access to the internet or other forms of technology. Hence I have to think of other ways of amusing myself. I am also unable to dress up in glamorous clothes or preen myself. This too is liberating because it is nice feeling that I don’t have to impress anybody else. I also like the feeling of family togetherness that outdoor camping brings. We all talk more when we are not distracted by a television and this leads to more open communication. I like being close to nature and meditating when I go outdoor camping too. I feel like I can forget my ego and get in touch with the person I really am. When I go outdoor camping I become more aware of the fact that everything in this universe is connected.
