Every year in the LA area, there are a couple firework shows to commence another start to a great year. The other day, after picking up a friend and heading over to a local venue to listen to music, I was told to take a back way through the hills. It was a shortcut that bypassed the freeways and congested roadways. Winding high into the hills, we got to a point in the road where the trees opened up and the valley far below was in full view. He said it was where they go to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July. That gave me the idea of possibly doing the same thing for New Year’s Eve fireworks.
Some outdoor camping in the hills above a firework show would make for a really memorable experience. It is getting cold out here at night but it is nothing some camping hiking gear couldn’t beat. It is not like this area gets any snow apart from the mountains. Outdoor camping and fireworks are two of my favorite things. Normally when two great things are combined the results are even better.
