Cleaning a Cutting Board When Outdoor Camping Is Easy |

I have discovered a way to make sure that my cutting board is germ free when we're outdoor camping. I simply use a 60/40 mixture of alcohol and water to treat both sides of the cutting board and then I rinse it with water after washing it in hot soapy water. We love to eat when we're outdoor camping and I'm really glad I read that tip online. Now I don't worry about bringing along a separate cutting board for meat use only. I've started using alcohol at home, too, to clean the kitchen counters and the cutting boards we use for our food at home. Food safety is number one in my book, and I do almost all the cooking at home and outdoor camping so I take all kinds of precautions, especially when we're outdoor camping. There are plenty of germs in the great outdoors and if we're not going to cook something, I'm super careful with it to make sure it's well washed with drinking water and chopped on a clean cutting board. At home when I'm watching TV in the kitchen, I'll also put plastic wrap over the TV's remote, too, so I don't get bacteria or germs on it, either, from handling raw food.
