Outdoor Camping Before Summer Ends |

I have not had a chance to go outdoor camping in the past three months and am beginning to get antsy with city life. I love the fast paced hustle and bustle of a major city but it is always nice to pair that with camping hiking and sleeping under the stars. I just came back from the Seattle area, seeing all the lush greenery, a little bit of rain and the forests was like a kick in the pants to lay out a tent and see the stars in high definition. Back in California, I want to be able to look up at the sky at night and not have to squint through the pollution to see the Big Dipper. Outdoor camping outside of the city lights is the only option.
It would be nice to set up shop underneath a forest canopy but most likely it will be in the desert. I can’t complain though. After living in Arizona for four years, I came to love the dusty expanse while camping hiking and shooting. There is no place like it. If you don’t know why the strongest telescopes in the world are plopped in the desert then it is time to go out there at night. It is so clear, the curvature of the Earth is almost visible. All this talk about the great outdoors makes me want to go outdoors as I type.
