outdoor campingThis is the last week of freedom our kids have before they go back to school on Monday, so tomorrow we are going camping until Saturday. We bought this gorgeous, huge 100+ square foot tent a month ago and haven't used it yet, so are really looking forward to finding a nice, quiet spot on a mountainside, pitching the tent, and having three glorious nights under the stars. With a tent this big, we have plenty of space to stretch out in our sleeping bags at night. The kids are getting older and they may not want to go outdoor camping with us that much longer, or will want their own tent to sleep in. That's fine with us. As long as they buy their own tent, they are welcome to go solo when we go camping. We usually go outdoor camping on forest service land and seldom ever see another person, much less a car, in the locations we choose. By having their own tent to use when we are outdoor camping, the kids can play their hand-held games, listen to their MP3 players and even watch movies. I'm entertained outdoor camping by simple things like listening to the sound of the wind going through the trees or watching the clouds float by.
